I have a secret. And if I'm going to admit it anywhere, it might as well be in the infinity of the internet's wedding blogs. So here goes:
I don't like wedding planning.
But like most females, I am impulsively drawn toward weddings. My eyes absorb photos of those beautiful handcrafted centerpieces like tiny little vacuums. I love staring at the groom as the bride walks down the aisle and dream of the day someone will look at me like that. I absolutely relish in a good speech that makes us see the new couple in a different way. I am still afraid to touch a wedding dress, lest I disturb its sanctity. Hell, I even love doing the electric slide.
So when it came my turn to start planning my own "big day," I thought it would be the total best experience ever. But, as it would turn out, it's not.
You might then naturally ask, then why would you spend time blogging about wedding planning?
Well, because I don't like it. Because you don't have to like it either. Because not liking the process makes you realistic and pragmatic and practical and that means that you do not have to worry about having an Etsy-certified bash or making sure your Flintstones-themed wedding is authentic enough. It means having something you like, that makes sense for budget and, most of all, allows you to have a life with your fiance, friends and family while you do it.
So let's get through this thing together. And hey, maybe we'll find ourselves enjoying it on the way.
